The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has been developing the Carbon Dioxide Removal System (CDRS) for the Lunar Gateway International Habitation module (I-HAB). CDRS provides the essential function of removing CO2 that could harm the crew's health in the closed cabin. It is an amine-based regenerative system that absorbs CO2 and vents it to space under a preliminary design phase. This report presents the current status of design and development including parametric studies on the CO2 removal rate using a CDRS breadboard model and following cabin CO2 analysis to achieve a preliminary design solution.
