The relationship between fabrication conditions and operation characteristics of electroactive supercoiled polymer artificial muscles with multiplexed (pre-bundled) conductive thread is studied. The fabrication of artificial muscle by inserting a twist into a multiplexed thread at once is found to be an effective way for output enhancement. It is also demonstrated that the artificial muscle is capable of continuous operation over 1,000 cycles.
