Abstract We describe the case of a 30-year-old male with a congenital meniscoid variant of the articular disc of the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC). The patient presented with ulnar-sided wrist pain after a fall on an outstretched hand. He was diagnosed with a foveal tear of the TFCC. Intraoperatively, the patient had a congenital meniscoid articular disc variant of the TFCC with foveal detachment. The diagnosis was supported by the patient’s young age, preservation of normal articular cartilage, and the absence of degenerative changes at the defect margins. Congenital anomalies of the triangular fibrocartilage disc are generally asymptomatic and should not be mistaken for posttraumatic ruptures. The patient underwent a foveal transosseous repair of the TFCC.
