A clear signal for the existence of new physics beyond Mw would be the non‐conservation of either the separate lepton numbers Le, Lμ, Lτ, of total lepton number L, or of baryon number B. At low energy these violations are described by an effective theory containing only the known quarks and leptons with vertices of dimension five or higher that are SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) invariant. Here we discuss some of the relations imposed by this invariance on the numerous processes which might violate Le, Lμ, Lτ, L, or B.
