The microstructure and mechanical properties of ferritic–bainitic steel, i.e., the material of large-diameter pipes of strength class X70, have been studied after long-term operation of a main gas pipeline (linear section). Despite the development of strain aging during operation, the structure of the steel is found to have no signs of degradation, and the level of its mechanical properties meets the requirements of normative documentation.
