Education is widely recognized as a key driver of socio-economic development, with its effectiveness largely determined by the quality and management of human resources within the system. This study examines the role of Human Resource Management (HRM) in promoting sustainable educational development in Tehri District. It emphasizes that teachers, administrators, and support staff collectively form the foundation of educational institutions, directly influencing learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness. The research highlights how strategic HRM practices—such as recruitment, training and development, performance appraisal, motivation, and retention—contribute to improving the overall quality of education. A well-structured HRM system ensures optimal utilization of human capital, leading to enhanced efficiency, accountability, and sustainability in the education sector. The study further explores the challenges faced in implementing effective HRM practices in educational institutions and suggests the need for policy interventions and capacity-building initiatives. Findings indicate that strengthening HRM mechanisms can significantly improve educational performance and support long-term sustainable development goals. The study concludes that investing in human resource development is essential for building resilient and high-performing educational systems
