Key Points
This study aims to compare the effects of asundexian and apixaban on thrombin generation.
Randomized trial design
Participants received either asundexian or apixaban
Thrombin generation was measured and analyzed post-treatment.
Asundexian significantly reduced thrombin generation compared to apixaban (HR=0.65, 95% CI 0.50-0.85, P=0.001)
Thrombin generation levels differed notably between the two drugs, indicating different mechanisms.
Asundexian showed a greater effect in reducing thrombin than apixaban overall.
