'The Age' and the 'Sydney Morning Herald' played a significant role in the conflation of the 'superwoman having it all' narrative and feminism in the 1980s, though they did so in slightly different ways. Though the narrative of 'having it all' served a particular social political purpose still it made a great copy in the pages of newspapers that fed on controversy but it did nothing for the millions of women who struggle daily in a society.
