This Special Issue of the International Journal of Sustainable Fashion & Textiles has been guest-edited by Dr Bethan Alexander and Professor Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas, who presented authors with a provocation to critically examine, challenge and reimagine sustainable fashion through technology, practice and communication at a moment of transition. The contributions to the Special Issue are authored by early career and established academics, scholars and industry practitioners each of whom presents a novel example of how sustainability and technology are impacting retailing and marketing in practice including merchandise strategies for upcycled clothing, the adoption of 3D computer-aided design technologies among small and micro fashion enterprises, Instagram-based sustainability communication targeting Gen Z, global sustainable fashion legislation and eco-credentials, sustainable design pedagogy, wardrobe optimization apps and circular fashion communication.
