The digitalization is often deployed in organizations as a series of projects. This study aims to facilitate research on the success or failure of digital projects, defined as projects realized in the context of a digitalization exercise. To this end is presented a model describing the main factors contributing to the success or the failure of digital changes. The model is developed with a qualitative content analysis of expert interviews, using a deductive approach with categories taken from a literature review. The factors are split into three categories. The enabling factors are major contributors to success or failure and allow the presence of other factors. The minor factors might be used as alternative or complementary contribution to success or failure, but not on their own. The other factors are grouped under the major factors'category. The model may be used to structure future research on the success or failure of digital changes.
