This skills audit was conducted within the Facilities Management (FM) Branch of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI). The audit supports the department's commitment to developing a skilled and capable workforce, aligning with broader national directives, including the National Development Plan (NDP) 2030 and the presidential call to professionalize the public service. The primary objective of this skills audit is to assess the current skills profile of the FM Branch's management staff, identify key skills gaps and training needs relative to the branch's critical mandate of managing the state's immovable assets, and provide recommendations for targeted skills development interventions. This audit focused on staff at the Middle Management Service (MMS) and Senior Management Service (SMS) levels. The data was collected using a survey administered via an online platform between February and March 2025. The participation rate was 57% (20 out of 35 officials). While this provides valuable data from a majority of the branch, the moderate response rate means the findings should be interpreted with some caution due to the risk of non-response bias. It should be noted that this summary contains only a fraction of the detailed analysis and nuances presented in the full report.
