Allen Archaeology Limited was commissioned by Landmark Planning on behalf of Besh Limited to undertake a geophysical survey using magnetometry on land off High Street, Fleckney, Leicestershire, to support a future planning application for a proposed residential development. The geophysical survey has revealed a number of features of potential archaeological interest. Across the northwestern field were a number of positive linear features which likely represent ridge and furrow cultivation, aligned broadly northwest to southeast, and potentially extending into the south-eastern field. There were also a few other positive linear and curvilinear features within the northwestern field that may represent archaeological activity. An area of magnetic noise at the very north end of the field could represent demolition material from a former building shown there on historic mapping.
