A comparison of the validity of psychometric g and specific ability of job knowledge, s, for predicting pilot and navigator criteria was conducted. Psychometric g and s were estimated form the principal components of a multiple aptitude test battery. The criteria included passing-failing training, an overall performance composite, academic performance, and work samples of pilot and navigator tasks.
