The article examines the methodological foundations for the formation and development of the export potential of agricultural holdings as large vertically integrated structures of the agro-industrial complex. It is substantiated that the export potential of an agricultural holding cannot be assessed solely through the volume of actual supplies or production capacity, since its implementation depends on the consistency of resource, technological, logistical, financial, institutional and managerial components. Special attention is paid to the transition from a raw-material export model to products with a higher degree of processing, which provide greater added value and stability of foreign economic activity. The article reveals the need to apply systemic, institutional and ESG approaches to assessing the export readiness of agricultural holdings. The proposed approach makes it possible to identify internal constraints on export growth, determine priority areas for modernization, take into account the requirements of target foreign markets and form a sustainable model for developing export potential under the transformation of global food trade
