Abstract This article solves the fault estimation and fault‐tolerant control problem for discrete‐time hybrid systems containing actuator and sensor faults. A novel extended state observer is shown to estimate states and faults of systems, simultaneously. Based on the utilized estimations, a fault‐tolerant controller is proposed so that stochastic stability of closed‐loop models with level is analyzed and sufficient conditions are obtained. A simulation example is given to prove this proposed strategy's effectiveness.
