Not a polymeric structure, but discrete molecules are present in the thiolate complexes M (SAr) 22 (M Mn, Fe (1). Co; Ar 2, 4, 6-tBu3C6H2). The central M2S2 unit is planar, the metal atoms are surrounded in an almost trigonal planar fashion. Thiolato transition-metal complexes are relevant as models for investigating the active centers in metalloproteins.
