Media Narratives in the Israel-Palestine Conflict: A Constructivist Approach to Analyzing Media Bias and Digital Activism

The Israel-Palestine conflict, as one of the most enduring and long-running conflicts, has been significantly shaped by media representations, influencing public opinion and international relations. This article examines the role of mainstream media and social media in constructing narratives around the conflict. It highlights the bias within Western mainstream media, which often favors Israel, and the impact of emotive language and selective reporting. Additionally, this articles explores the influence of social media, particularly through pro-Palestinian digital activism like the "All Eyes on Rafah" campaign, in providing counter-narratives and amplifying marginalized voices. Using a constructivist approach, this study underscores the dynamic interplay between media, public opinion, and foreign policy-making, emphasizing the importance of historical context, social values, and norms in understanding media's role in international conflicts. The findings suggest that while mainstream media has historically been biased, social media offers a platform for more balanced and diverse perspectives, potentially reshaping public discourse and policy responses in the global arena.
