Abstract - The Megheswar Temple in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is an important monument from the 12th century that reflects the rich culture, language, and religion of medieval India. This paper looks at the temple's inscriptions from four angles-literary, social, historical, and language-related. The writings use beautiful Sanskrit poetry and styles to show devotion. Socially, they show that the temple was a centre for Shiva worship and local traditions. Historically, the inscriptions talk about kings, festivals, temple building, and daily life. The shift from Sanskrit to Odia shows how language became more local and easier for people to understand. Overall, these inscriptions help us learn about the art, faith, and life of people in medieval Odisha.
