In today’s digital world, social media is becoming an important part of students’ daily lives. With easy access to smart-phones and the internet, the use of social media among students is increasing rapidly. Students widely use various social-media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, whats App, Youtube for communication, entertainment and learning. Social media can be the most helpful digital tool in learning as it provides students study materials, helps in formation of study groups and sharing information. It also allows them to connect with experts in different corners for learning. However, too much use of social media can create many serious problems not only in their education but also in social relation. Now a day, among students, social media addiction becomes a serious issue. Social media addiction means using social media platforms excessively which affects daily routine, focus, social behavior and general well being. This paper investigates the impact of social media addiction on learning and social connectedness of Undergraduate students with special reference to Bhattadev University. It offers insights how overuse of social media affects students’ focus on study and academic engagement. It also looks at both positive and negative effects of social media on students’ social connectedness.
