The subject of the study is the Chinese Marxist concept of happiness as a multi-layered theoretical phenomenon that develops in the process of historical Sinification of Marxism. This concept is not limited to a simple reception of the classical positions of Marx and Engels, but is a synthesis of Marxist philosophy with Chinese national characteristics, including Confucian values of harmony, duty and social justice, as well as modern political attitudes such as the idea of "a wonderful life" and "happiness through struggle." The article presents an analytical review of scientific publications by Chinese and Russian authors devoted to the problems of the Marxist concept of happiness in modern China, in order to identify the main thematic areas, methodological approaches, theoretical achievements and existing conceptual gaps in each of the national academic traditions. The methodological basis of the research was general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, systematization and classification of scientific literature, and the principles of historical materialism were applied to the interpretation of the categorical apparatus and the evaluation of interpretations of happiness. The scientific novelty of the research lies in a comprehensive comparison of two independent research fields – Russian and Chinese – within the framework of studying the Chinese Marxist concept of happiness, identifying their specifics, points of intersection and differences, as well as in stating the lack of a full-fledged intercultural dialogue in this area. The study shows that in Russian science, research on the Chinese Marxist concept of happiness is at an early stage, based on a deep tradition of studying Marxist philosophy and the category of happiness in general, but without forming a holistic approach to analyzing Chinese specifics, limited mainly to universal Marxist interpretations or cultural comparative studies. In China, this topic is an institutionalized, multidimensional trend, closely related to official political discourse and focused on the practical implementation of the concept of happiness, its folk-oriented nature and the synthesis of Marxist and traditional Chinese values.
