SARABHAI, STRETTON, BRENNER and BOLLE have shown that amber mutations in bacteriophage T4D cause chain termination which results in formation of a fragment of the normal protein. The experimental results described in this paper provide biochemical evidence that super-suppressible mutations cause chain termination.
