‘Sharing a’ or ‘sharing your practice’ is a common activity among today’s independent dance artists in Europe, which is the field I will examine in my text. The creation and production process can, for example, start by ‘sharing (one’s) practices’. What is more, there are now specific workshops, or let’s say – formats – dedicated to sharing one’s practice or sharing practices or practice-sharing – so-called ‘Shared Practice Meetings’ or, for short, ‘Sharings’. Here, ‘to share’ refers to the joint practice of dance-choreographic exercises, procedures and methods, as well as the exchange and transfer of those practices between participants.
