Abstract This paper addresses the need for increased understanding and communication between business school faculty and business librarians in regional universities. In response to changes in the marketplace, many regional business schools have become mission-driven providers of educational services and programs to people within their designated service areas. This mission-driven emphasis requires these schools to place greater reliance on their business libraries in order to meet their stated objectives. This paper examines the recent history of the changes in business education, demonstrates the increased need for greater participation in the educational process by business librarians, and offers suggestions in order to facilitate communication between business faculty and librarians at regional universities.
