Nobody doubts that, the world is getting populated, and various measures were put in place to address the ever increasing growth of the global population. The fear is on the ration of global population to food and other infrastructural amenities as postulated by Reverend R.T Malthus. The bearing on the global population is how to secure it self sufficient and hygienic food at relatively lower cost. Reports from World Health Organization, Food and Agricultural Organization as well as other national and international organization are showing their concern on tragedy that may be fallen if necessary actions are not taken on billion of people that do not have access to food and also millions are dying or suffering from hunger and food related diseases. The objective of the study is to determine the level of population growth on food security proxy to agricultural commodity output in Nigeria. In achieving this objective the study employed secondary data, and linear regression model was used at 95% confidence level (∞ = 0.05) and the study tested the null hypothesis, which says: Ho: There is no significant effect between population growth and food security in Nigeria.
