Introduction and Objective: People with T1D commonly report fragmented sleep - a complex parameter measured by different methods. The purpose of this study was to evaluate sleep using different methods and the association with glycemic parameters. Methods: Adults with T1D, diabetes duration 3 years, CGM use 6 months and not currently treated with AID systems were recruited. Sleep was measured using home-based EEG monitors (HST) for three nights, supplemented by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and 7 days of actigraphy. All participants used Dexcom G7 for ten days. Results: Data from 57 participants (mean age 47 years, HbA1c 61 mmol/mol, diabetes duration 27 years) were included in the analyses. A significant discrepancy in sleep metrics was found when comparing the three methods (Table 1). Across all methods, total sleep time (TST) was short. Subjectively reported sleep efficiency was below recommended levels, and objectively measured efficiency was in the lower normal range. TST as measured by HST was positively correlated with TIR (p = 0.04). Conclusion: Sleep measurements differ significantly depending on methods used and sleep duration correlates with TIR. Sleep is insufficient in people with T1D and future studies examining this with appropriate methods are warranted. Disclosure M.Z. Sørensen: None. R.F.
