Level 3 Building Recording plus Heritage Impact Statement on proposed changes to building. The current function of the building is as commercial offices. When the building was constructed its function was a pair of houses. The special character of 26 & 28 Southampton Street solely lies in the appearance of the eastern façade of the building which has an apparent historic appearance. It is proposed to convert the building from commercial offices to residential use, with two flats and one house to be formed from the internal space. The proposals will have no effect on the setting of the building. The building will be returned to its former use as a residential property, and owing to the extensive internal alterations that have already occurred, little impact to the historic fabric will be caused by the proposed work.
