With primary emphasis on research published during 2021–2024, while also incorporating selected foundational studies where necessary, it highlights recent deployments and discusses future prospects. The paper begins by emphasizing solar energy′s role in the global energy transition and the significance of large‐scale PV systems and power converters. It examines advanced PV system configurations that incorporate central, string, micro, and power‐optimizer converters, along with efficient, high‐capacity power converter designs. A comparative analysis of inverter models with B6, B4, and B8 switch configurations is included, exploring their impact on performance. Array configurations, coupling strategies, and integration techniques are evaluated, with a focus on their impact on system efficiency. The review also addresses monitoring and maintenance challenges, detailing software and control strategies for performance optimization. Research gaps in efficiency, power quality, reliability, scalability, and durability are discussed, along with a summary of global case studies. It highlights future advancements in PV materials, digitization, IoT applications, and anticipated market growth. This review guides researchers and industry professionals in optimizing large‐scale PV systems, offering technical insights, practical case studies, and recommendations to improve performance and integration.
