Digital transformation has become a vital element for business growth and competitiveness in the modern global economy. The rapid advancement of digital technologies has significantly transformed the way businesses operate, communicate, and deliver value to customers. Small businesses, including Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), play a crucial role in economic development by generating employment, promoting innovation, and contributing to national income. In recent years, small businesses have increasingly started adopting digital technologies such as digital payment systems, cloud computing, social media marketing, e-commerce platforms, and data analytics tools. These technologies provide numerous opportunities for small enterprises to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and expand their market reach. However, despite the potential benefits, the adoption of digital technologies among small businesses remains uneven. Many enterprises face significant challenges such as lack of financial resources, limited digital skills, poor technological infrastructure, cybersecurity concerns, and resistance to change. These barriers often prevent small businesses from fully utilizing digital tools and technologies. This research paper examines the opportunities and challenges associated with the adoption of digital technologies by small businesses. The study also highlights the importance of government support, digital literacy programs, and infrastructure development in promoting digital transformation among small enterprises. The findings suggest that while digital technologies provide substantial growth opportunities, overcoming the existing barriers is essential to ensure successful adoption and sustainable development of small businesses.
