NeXus (and related data) at European XFEL - with a focus on serial crystallography use cases

This presentation has been part of the DAPHNE4NFDI webinar series on NeXus implementations.At European XFEL, the HDF5 file format is used as container for structured data and metadata following a facility-specific standard, European XFEL Data Format (EXDF), acknowledging the unique time structure governing the experiments. As per new scientific data policy, community standards such CXI and NeXus are also supported.In the field of Serial Femtosecond Crystallography (SFX), experiment data processing partly runs on NeXus (NxMx) standards. Software workflows for NeXus file generation on the level of primary diffraction images have been developed and used. We combine software-corrected data (equivalent to raw data), and combine these with specific detector geometry descriptions and pulse-resolved spectroscopic information.
