This interview is a part of the “Punjabi in BC” oral history project (2019-2023). “Punjabi in BC” is comprised of interviews with over 50 K-12 teachers, language advocates, journalists, and writers who have contributed to the life of the Punjabi language in British Columbia, Canada.The subject of this interview, at the time of the interview, Amandeep Kaur Chhina is teaches at Princess Margaret Secondary and has over two decades of experience in Canadian education. As the Modern Languages Department head, Amandeep fosters community building and maintains strong relationships within the school community. This interview is divided into two segments and includes one promotional video. In this interview, Amandeep discusses her immigration experience, her teaching experience in Canada, student projects on Punjabi culture and heritage, and what she has learned as an educator and educational leader.
