The scope of creeds and confessions presented here appears to be quite encyclopaedic.To the book's credit, it includes most of the well-known creeds and confessions throughout the ages, making this an ambitious attempt to combine such material in a single volume.In that sense it really is a unique and helpful contribution.One might easily imagine this being used as a reference work by students in introductory-level Christianity courses.It is also the sort of text that might, for example, be of interest to a certain type of church member, let's say a recent convert to the Christian faith who wants to know more about the wider context of the contents not only of the faith perspective that they themselves belong to, but perhaps also that of other believers in the plural contexts of Global Christianity.The major traditions in Global Christianity are all included.The North African origins of some of the early creeds are emphasised, and the inclusion of confessions from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries means that the worldwide church does receive attention and representation within this volume.To name two examples of twentieth-century confessions receiving detailed attention, there is an informative discussion of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) and their 'Brief Statement of Faith', and an entire chapter is devoted to Huria Kristen Batak Protestant, which, confusingly, is for the
