Abstract The article presents a report of the editor of the journal "Issues in Accounting Education," for 1988-1989. The number of manuscripts in process at year end was more than twice the number in process at the beginning of the year, a result of a significant increase in the inflow of manuscripts. The editor received 203 manuscripts in 1988-1989, a 42 percent increase over the previous year. The acceptance rate was somewhat lower than in prior years. Every manuscript submitted was sent to at least two reviewers. The journal's editorial board, with the assistance of many occasional reviewers, completed the evaluation of 163 manuscripts inducting 32 manuscripts transferred from the previous editor. Editorial decisions on the 32 transferred manuscripts, 14 of which were accepted, were made in consultation with the editor's predecessor. Analyses of editorial decisions presented in this report pertain to the remaining 131 manuscripts that were submitted during 1988-1989. The average processing time for manuscripts accepted or rejected during the year was 67 days.
