Indian national movement was a grand and prolonged struggle launched against British imperialism. Nationalism was main ideology and instrument with whose help this struggle was launched. It was a series of political efforts from mid 1880s to 1947 that took place in Indian subcontinent. The whole movement took place in various phases. The movement combined constitutional reforms mass mobilization , revolutionary activities, and civil disobedience shaping modern India. It plays a pivotal role in India’s independence.
