The improvement of the territory of a municipal formation will always remain an urgent issue of local importance, requiring the identification of the opinion of the residents of the municipality on their attitude to certain projects of improvement of their place of residence. The central issue of the scientific article was the draft law on the mandatory coordination of the improvement of the territory of a municipal formation with local residents at open meetings. The expediency of the legislative initiative on the mandatory submission of each issue of improvement of the territories of municipal formations for approval by local residents is questioned. It is concluded that the mandatory participation of citizens in solving issues of improvement requires detailed development and legislative fixation, taking into account possible practical problems during implementation.
