Abstract The results of the development of A606 steel with an enhanced level of consumer properties are presented. The required level of mechanical properties (tensile strength greater than 555 MPa, yield strength greater than 480 MPa, relative elongation of at least 22%) and microstructure (nonmetallic inclusions no more than 2 points, grain size no larger than number 10) were achieved. The resistance of rolled A606 steel samples to general corrosion in a CO2-containing environment was assessed. To reduce the cost of the developed product, a Ti–Nb microalloying scheme was selected, subject to a reduction in the content of Si, Mn, and Cu.
