CORRECTS AN ATTRIBUTION: a prior PUH note framed the neutrino-angle question as T228 (+2/27) vs a value attributed to Carl Brannen of deltaₙu = 0. Direct reading of Brannen's paper "Koide mass equations for hadrons" corrects this: Brannen does NOT set the neutrino angle to zero. He derives deltaₙu = 2/9 + pi/12 — the charged-lepton Koide angle 2/9 plus a Berry-Pancharatnam topological phase pi/12 (a doublet state traversing the three mutually-unbiased bases of the Pauli algebra; octant phase pi/4, one-third entering as pi/12). THE CORRECT COMPARISON: 1. SAME VARIABLE. Both write sqrt (mg) ~ v + s cos (2 pi g/3 + delta) ; both get delta = 2/9 for charged leptons. So delta is the identical cone-angle offset in radians in both frameworks — comparison is legitimate. 2. OPPOSITE STRUCTURAL CHOICES. Brannen INCREASES: deltaₙu = 2/9 + pi/12 = 0. 484 (additive topological correction, doublet character). T228 REDUCES: deltaₙu = (2/9) /3 = 2/27 = 0. 074 (multiplicative Z3 reduction, weak-isospin partner one Z3 step from the lepton angle). One adds a geometric phase, the other divides by three — structurally inverse, not minor variants. 3. NOT CROSS-ADJUDICABLE BY THETA₁3. T228's case rests on sin (theta₁3) = |deltaₗep - deltaₙu|, giving 8. 52 deg vs empirical 8. 54 +/- 0. 11 (0. 24% match) — within its OWN mechanism. But Brannen computes theta₁3 differently: from the discrete-Fourier / MUB mixing-matrix structure (1-circulant + 2-circulant tribimaximal decomposition), NOT from a difference of cone angles. Substituting Brannen's deltaₙu into T228's formula is a CATEGORY ERROR (mixes one framework's phase with another's mixing mechanism; would give 15 deg) and judges nothing. Each must be assessed by its own theta₁3 route. 4. STRENGTH OF EACH (honestly, no cross-judging): T228's 2/27 matches theta₁3 to 0. 24% in its mechanism; its 1/3 factor is (per T228) plausible but less rigorous than T155v2's colour-CG derivation. Brannen's 2/9 + pi/12 reproduces the neutrino mass-squared ratio (31. 4 vs 32. 5 +/- 6. 5) in his scheme; but the octant phase pi/4 -> pi/12 one-third factor is a physical assignment not a derivation, and the ratio constraint is loose (wide band of angles fits). Both are internally-consistent PROPOSALS, neither a first-principles derivation. 5. PUH-INTERNAL QUESTION UNCHANGED: deltaₙu in PUH remains coupled to the down-quark phase deltaD through the sector-phase structure, and deltaD is itself unresolved in T155v2 by a methodological asymmetry (cos (240 deg) = -1/2 giving -3/27, vs the parallel colour-CG/dimensional method giving Zenczykowski's empirical -4/27). The PUH neutrino angle stays gated on resolving deltaD by a single consistent E6 weight-space projection. CONCLUSION: a clarified map, not a verdict. The genuine alternatives are an additive topological correction (Brannen) vs a multiplicative Z3 reduction (T228), each internally consistent within its own theta₁3 mechanism, not adjudicable across frameworks, with the PUH value still gated on the coupled deltaD calculation.
