This study aimed to investigate a Pseudomonas asiatica ( P. asiatica ) strain J68 isolated from chicken in a poultry that produced tigecycline resistance gene tet (X6), carbapenem resistance gene bla IMP−45 and other multiple antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs). Strain J68 was identified using MALDI-TOF MS and average nucleotide identity (ANI) analysis. Antimicrobial susceptibility was determined by broth microdilution method. PCR screening, conjugation assay and whole-genome sequencing were performed to characterize the strain J68. The strain J68 was identified as P. asiatica , it exhibited resistance to multiple antibiotics, including tigecycline and carbapenem. Subsequent analysis revealed that 24 antimicrobial resistance genes, including the tigecycline resistance gene tet (X6) and the carbapenemase gene bla IMP−45 were identified in the genome of the strain J68. The isolate belonged to sequence type ST15. For the first time, we report the emergence of tet (X6)- and bla IMP−45 -positive P. asiatica strain isolated from a poultry source. The strain J68 exhibited resistance to last-line antibiotics, including tigecycline and carbapenems. The emergence of tigecycline resistance gene tet (X6), along with carbapenem resistance gene bla IMP−45 in strain of chicken origin is noteworthy. Our findings highlight the need for continued monitoring of resistance genes in agricultural environments.
