This document is a technical report for an archaeological surface examination of three separate parcels of land, totaling 234 acres at the request of the Vandenberg Air Force Base contracting office. The purpose of the archaeological surface survey was to determine whether any archaeological/cultural resources were present on the parcels and if so to map their extent based on surface examination and also on a preliminary level to determine the nature and significance of any resources discovered. Also, if appropriate, recommendations will be made regarding the treatment of the cultural resources in the context of any proposed projects. Archaeological records indicated no previously recorded sites within the project areas. Area 1 was found to contain no archaeological/cultural resources. A new archaeological site was recorded in Area 2, consisting primarily of stone artifacts. Two isolated shellfish fragments were reported in Area 3.
