SUMMARY Lancefield group G streptococci were isolated from cows in 4 of nearly 250 dairy herds in upstate New York. The cultural characteristics of the isolated strains agreed with those reported earlier. The clinical effects of infection ranged from mild to severe inflammation of the udder. All treated cows readily responded to antibiotic infusions.
