In the modern education system, the main core of education is the Bologna process, credit technology of education, competency-based approach, competence and digitalization. It is known that back in the second half of the 20th century these issues were implemented in the education of our country. It's just that most of the terms were used under different names. This article analyzes and explores the representation of the competency-based method and issues of digitalization in the works of Isak Bekboev, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, professor, corresponding member of the National Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic, people's teacher of the Kyrgyz Republic in the 70s of the XX century. For this purpose, some of the works of I. Bekboev dating back to that time were analyzed, their meaning was compared with modern issues, and proposals were developed. We believe that the results of these studyies will not leave a wide range of readers indifferent.
