This study aimed to provide 12 character designs reflecting the clothing archetypes worn by delegates of the Joseon Tongshinsa when sent to Japan. The results of the study can be summarized as follows. For character design, this study selected 12 prominent members of the Joseon Tongshinsa: Jeongsa, Busa, Jongsagwan, Dangsang Yeokgwan, Jesulgwan, Gungwan, Masangjae, Akgong, Saryeong, Sodong, Gisu, and Gyeokgun. The design concept incorporated cute and straightforward imagery, highly noticeable front-facing postures, extensive use of 18th-century materials, ritual clothing worn for Jeonmyeongrye, and props representing each character
