In this article, a historical and archaeological review of the Yejok(濊族) in the Yeongseo region, the so-called 'Yeongseo Ye(嶺西 濊)', was conducted. Based on this, opinions on the issues related to the Yemaek in the ancient Yeongseo region centered on 'Yeongseo Ye' are summarized as follows. The headquarters of Yeye are the current Wonsan(元山) and Gangneung(江陵), where not one Jeokseokchong(積石塚) has been discovered, so Jeokseokchong cannot be set as a cultural indicator of Yegye culture(濊系 文化). Rather, Jeokseokchong is a tombstone that contains the uniqueness and identity of Goguryeo(高句麗), and the tribe of Jeokseokchong built in the Yeongseo region should be viewed as a Maekjok(貊族). In addition, Malgal(靺鞨) has invaded Chiljungha(칠중하) in Paju Jeokseong(坡州 積城) and Sulcheon(述川) in Yeoju(驪州), which are recorded as Baekje(百濟)'s territory in Samguksagi(三國史記), which is also why the scope of 'Yeongseo Ye' cannot be set as the distribution area of Jeokseokchong. Considering that there is no grand commander in Ye(濊), a vast area including Bukangang(北漢江) basin, Namhangang(南漢江) basin, Imjingang(臨津江) cannot be considered as the scope of Ye. Regarding ‘Yeongseo Ye’, its existence can be acknowledged with existing research results, and considering that no Jeokseokchong have been found in the Hantangang(漢灘江) basin and that the battle between Malgal(靺鞨) and Baekje(百濟) took place in Buyang(斧壤) and Buhyeon(斧峴), the scope of Ye is considered to be the Cheorwon(鐵原) and Pyeonggang(平康) areas.
