The article is devoted to the problem of professional self-determination of modern adolescents, 8th grade students. Diagnostic data on the main motives for choosing a profession and the formation of professional identity are presented. Three groups of motives are described: dominant, secondary and peripheral. A qualitative analysis of the state of professional identity of adolescents is given.
