A time-dependent mean-field theory of the nonlinear electric field response of a charge-density wave pinned by impurities is implemented. It is found that above a threshold electric field Eₓ, the charge-density wave moves with velocity v (E-{Eₓ) }^3{2}. Some general discussion of the behavior as a function of dimension is included.
