Resumen
ABSTRACTThis study focuses on the usage of electronic resources and the effects of this usageon the development of faculty in the higher education libraries in Chennai. Using thedescriptive research design and normative survey technique, data have been collected throughthe means of an instrument that consists of a questionnaire, which was administered to 1,329faculty respondents in 16 institutions.The study indicates that the faculty makes extensive use of database resources likeScopus and Web of Science, and are also well aware of the effects of electronic resources inimproving the quality of teaching and research, along with the development of faculty. Thereasons for faculty preferring these resources include quicker access, contemporary nature,and user-friendliness.
