Mark D. Peterson, MD, PhD, is System Director of Aortic Surgery at NYU Langone Health and Professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He previously served as a cardiac surgeon at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto for 16 years, where he was medical director of the Brain and Heart Centre, co-director of the Structural Heart Program, and lead for Complex Aortic Surgery. He holds an MD from the University of Manitoba (1998) and a PhD from the University of Toronto (2005).
