Today, the idea of involving war veterans in sports is becoming increasingly relevant. A range of adaptive competitions is being formed, and practitioners are also appearing who are beginning to actively engage in this area. The process of involvement in sports not only contributes to the physical recovery of veterans, but also helps them integrate into society, find new hobbies and communities, which improves their quality of life. At the current stage of development of sports for people with disabilities, the need to find ways to motivate war veterans to systematically engage in sports, which will allow them to more quickly realize themselves and return to a full life, is becoming relevant. The article substantiates the relevance of studying the processes of forming the motivation of veterans of the Russian- Ukrainian war to engage in sports. A survey of veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war was conducted on issues of awareness of the impact of sports on people with disabilities and opportunities for sports, as well as on the features of the formation of motivation for sports among veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Factors that influence the motivation of people with disabilities to play sports were identified, and their features were also identified. Understanding these factors will allow for the development of specialized programs that can better respond to the specific needs and challenges faced by war veterans.
