The article discusses the geological and environmental problems of subsoil use related to the management of mining industry waste. Solving these problems requires a comprehensive approach and the implementation of innovative solutions. As mineral extraction increases, waste management becomes critical for sustainable development and environmental safety. According to statistics, the amount of waste generated in the mining industry is increasing, leading to an increase in the amount of overburden rock piles. The comprehensive use of minerals, including mining waste, also involves the use of new technologies, as well as the development of technogenic deposits and the proper placement of waste dumps, in order to extract as many useful components as possible from potentially secondary mineral resources.
