Academic libraries are upgrading their information services by leveraging massive technological advancements of the present technology-driven age for sustainable development. This study investigated digital technologies’ adoption by academic libraries for sustainable development in an evolving technological age in Nigeria. The specific objectives of the study were to examine the digital technologies adopted by academic libraries in an evolving technological age and ascertain the influence of digital technology adoption by academic libraries on sustainable development in South-West, Nigeria. The descriptive survey research was adopted for the study. Using convenience sampling technique, 50 librarians and library officers were randomly selected across universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in South-west, Nigeria. A structured questionnaire, divided into three sections was administered through online (Google forms) and responses were analysed using descriptive statistics with the aid of statistical packages for service solutions (IBM 24.0). The findings of the study revealed that mobile technology based services, institutional repositories, web OPAC, QR codes, digital libraries were highly used digital technologies by academic libraries. It was revealed that digital technologies provided platforms for informed citizens, and limitless access to relevant information resources and services. The study concluded that management of higher institutions must support adoption of digital technologies through provision of technological tools and training of librarians on core competencies, and academic librarians must be open to innovation and changes.
