This research explores the role of political parties in the developing democracy of Pakistan. Political parties are crucial for democracy because they offer representation, articulate interests, facilitate governance, and ensure accountability among leaders. The democratic progression of Pakistan has encountered challenges including military coups, dynastic governance, weak party institutionalization, ethnic fragmentation, and corruption. Through the use of theoretical frameworks and empirical analysis, this study investigates how the major political parties in Pakistan affect the democratic framework amidst various internal and external challenges It suggests that improving the frameworks of political parties, fostering democracy within parties, advancing national cohesion, and reinforcing civil society are crucial for reinforcing democracy in Pakistan.
